ATTENTION 2001 AND 2002 PLAYERS AND PARENTS Two years we wrote a series on how Covid 19 would affect the sport of hockey. Despite nailing most of our predictions months before they occurred Covid is still effecting College and Junior Hockey. We have recently learned that there are over 100 players in the transfer portal. This means over 100 players Division 1 and 3 are seeking to move teams. With the recent success of UNE receiving numerous former Division 1 players via transfers and it paying dividends immediately it has put a damper on commitments. So with that being said schools with late transfer dates or rolling admissions are holding out that some D1 transfers fall in their lap. So you take Portal transfers, USHL, NAHL, NCDC, CANADIAN LEAGUES, and Prep all ahead of Tier 3 Junior hockey. Don't panic be patient as difficult as that sounds. Well as most teams seasons are over we reach out to players who turned down our service. We have kept a tabs on their progress. We took a look at 5 players who chose they knew more. Well all of them went into situations if they were our client we wouldn't have put them in. We are briefly going to give you an example of one of the players. His team is going to Nationals so your saying how did he make wrong decision? Well the player isn't going because he made decision not to give this coach more money. He is an ageout and has not played a game in a month. We told this player coach only wanted his money. In our discussion he stated you were right. Well the purpose of telling everyone this is not to gloat its to let you know that Top Hockey Prospect will always have your back not your wallet. SPECIAL EDITION USPHL INCIDENT BETWEEN PLAYER AND LINESMAN
We would like to give a first hand account of this incident as well as some additional FACTS. The purpose of writing this sole reason is protecting and defending our clients on South Shore Kings Premier team along with their teammates.
We will start off with we do not condone the actions of said player nor is he a client. However here are a list of facts that need to be presented.
1) Said player had a prior altercation with two of the three officials that had done the game in a previous showcase
2) A linesman can not stop play to issue a penalty unless it's too many men on the ice other than that must report any major or egregious to the re
f 3) The penalties that were called were non team offending actions misconducts ejections game misconduct etc
4) SSK were given a 5 minute major and also had to have someone to serve the penalty. In addition a power play goal was scored on a 5 on 3 when they should had never been penalized to begin with. Also during this time during the penalty kill they suffered two player injuries 1 for rest of season.
5) This errant power play caused a severe momentum change cost them a goal, 2 injuries, 2 playoff roster spots, potential scouting opportunities and essentially was a contributing deciding factor of the end result of the game and potentially this team's playoff hopes and season
So we have so many questions that need to be answered for these players.
A) why was the player not previously suspended when threatening these officials before and a league official
b) why were these same officials allowed to officiate this game
C) why did linesman blow the whistle and throw player out
D) why was a 5 minute major awarded
E) will the Ssk be able to have exception to add 2 players to their playoff roster This team has advanced 3 players to ncdc and battled all kinds of adversity and secure #2seed. They have put in so much effort thus far and have paid all kinds of money to receive not only more punishment but risk more injuries due to errant decisions made by others to decide their future. These players and parents deserve answers
TELL IT LIKE IT IS THE FUNNEL In all sports from youth to high school college and even pro there is a term we like to use it's called a funnel. Let us explain in youth hockey everyone plays high school there are cuts not everyone plays juniors more cuts college even more cuts and pro even more cuts. It's the reality of sports. Juniors is in that smaller part of funnel. There are healthy scratches(imagine that you pay and you don't play)same in college as well as pro. So here is the major problem with the funnel and the sport of ice hockey as we see it. Too many teams too many bad coaches recruiters and owners and not enough good talent. The funnel is not a new theory problem is there is no funnel for bad coaches and teams. These same bad coaches play youth hockey rolls 4 lines 8 d everyone plays. If the funnel is there for players it needs to be there for coaches and teams. It's time to expose the youth hockey mentality in Juniors.
THE DAY AFTER Well February 11th the day after US Junior team playoff/roster deadline. Time to reflect on some of the most idiotic happenings that we got to hear. A team will not add anyone because they are on a road trip. Um there is a new thing called INTERNET! Several teams coaches not having access to the information of player transactions. WHAT? How can you do your job without that access? Multiple cellar dwellers looking to sell their players for as much as $3500. Is this not to give a player especially an ageout an opportunity to make playoffs and more exposure? Midnight deadline teams submitting rosters hours before deadline. These were playoff teams desperately needing players. So here is our conclusion for DEADLINE DAY 2022 Juniors is no longer about player development and to get players to the next level. ATTENTION TIER 3 JUNIOR PLAYERS AND PARENTS Why is February 10th an important day? All tier 3 leagues rosters/protected lists are frozen!!! If you are on a playoff or near playoff team your GM and head coach are looking for better players to replace players on your team Are you a scratch now or 4th liner you should be worried!! Are you on a bad team and your coach and GM hasn't approached you and ask if you want to go to a playoff team? Do you have an advisor and he hasn't spoken to you in last month to see what you want to do before the deadline? Do you have a plan if you get released between now and February 10th? ATTENTION Tier 3 league officials, owners and coaches. All leagues need to do a better job policing teams who are clearly violating protocols. Here are examples of where these protocols are being violated billeting, ( 9 players in a house with a coach among 1 of the violations) no busses over 100 miles no food on road trips, charging extra money for road trips for buses and hotels that was already covered in tuition.
These are just some examples that teams are clearly not following the rules.
But there is some more disturbing ones that we have been told. Coaches being intoxicated on benches during games or too intoxicated to run a practice. Allowing players to smoke in their cars and then come on bus for a road trip with no discipline or even reporting it. One of these same coaches making inappropriate sexual innuendos in locker room.
So league officials need to spend less time on this show or that show because you are making junior hockey a SHITSHOW!!!
So we had to change the original post per order of our attornies.
So this is a continuation of our Rant from earlier in the week.
For a junior league that promotes college commitments as this league does then this junior coach has no business being in this league nor coaching.
Not only did he say he would screw a player over for a college commitment he ACTUALLY DID DO IT.
This coach should not be in charge of advancing anyone's career. What makes matters worse, he is also a fellow advsor.
We can only hope that players parents and the league do the appropriate thing and get him removed and away from the game. #tellitlikeitis

The following are examples that something needs to be done with Tier 3 Junior Hockey. All these examples are real and are actually happening or has happened.
Billet home 9 players deep with a coach
A house 9 players in it
Players being charged in excess of $700 a month to share a house or an apartment
Teams not covering meals on road
Teams charging additional money over contract
Teams not honoring contracts with what was promised
Teams not supplying transportation over mileage limit.
BOTTOM LINE Teams are making money in all different ways and not honoring contracts or commitments.

we could have chose topics like 30 players on a 25 man roster, 6 goalies on a USPHL Premier teams or people thinking they are qualified and they aren't.
We chose not qualified because in the other two instances those coaches who have too many players and too many goalies are not qualified either.
We are going to give you a couple of examples so scenario 1 are you going to take personal training tips from a) certified personal trainer or b) someone who is 75lbs overweight with major health issues
Scenario 2 Do you want an advisor a) who has over 600 Jr wins with 8 championship 3 National championships and moved over 200 players to higher level jrs college or pro or b) someone who bad mouths their competitors and only track record of many attempts of failed teams or leagues they have started
So in both scenarios in you chose A you will had picked a Top Hockey Prospect advisor if you picked b you should be contacting Top Hockey Prospect ASAP before you become the next failed experiment
Well this situation has gotten out of hand!!! Junior hockey is supposed to give players an opportunity to not only develop but also give players an opportunity to advance their careers to hopefully to college hockey.
So here are some real life unfortunately SAD current situations in Tier 3 hockey. There are two USPHL Premier teams have five goalies. Five? How can you develop or advance with 5? Included in these 5 are ageouts in their last year? How is this being done or for that matter even being allowed?
We have other scenarios in that league as well as others that have GA OR GOALS differential off the charts but refuse to make a change while 01s are sitting in stands looking to just get an opportunity. There is no reason for me to put teams on blast as the information I state are not hard to figure out.
Now is the time to stop this practice and correct the situation. Yes we have a couple of goalies involved in this situation and it's not crying over spilt milk it's simply pointing out the reality this is NOT JUNIOR HOCKEY it's a bankroll technique!!!!
Players on TIER 3 JR TEAMS if you are on a team with more than 25 players we are giving you a fair warning only 25 players are protected and insured. If you are not on that list you should not be paying and you are a FREE AGENT and can talk to other coaches. We had an incident this week where a player was not on 25 man and a team asked for their money not going to happen
There are way too many teams!!!!!! Whether it be juniors, Academies Midgets etc. It's time to take a step back and worry about development and not about $$. There are too many owners/coaches worried about $ then a good product. We have seen strong leagues suffer with weak teams and good teams hoarding players and sitting them in the stands. You also have the reverse with teams dressing 13 guys and are 1 or 2 injuries away from folding. Leagues need to do a better job policing their league teams and focus on administration of their league rather than worrying about podcasts, fantasy leagues etc.
When a prospective client approaches us to possibly represent them we ask them a few questions. Hows your grades? What's your short term and long term goals? Can you take constructive criticism?
You may ask why do we ask these questions. Well unlike other advisors we are selective on who we take! We don't just take clients whose families have pulses and wallets we take players we can advance and develop!!! So if these questions are answered appropriately it tells us two things 1) are we the right fit for this prospect 2) does this prospect take accountability not only for his future but also his actions!!!
Well we will start out with our philosophy is we treat our clients like family! We do everything in our power to highlight all our clients achievements anytime we can. Noise is a disturbance from an outside source. It is irrelevant distraction that only affects you if you allow it to. If you stop to listen to it you are taking time away from focusing on your goals and your tasks at hand. Most of the noise usually comes from detractors who either cant accomplish what you are capable of or just pure jealousy. Most noise is just that but in some cases people take it to extreme levels and need to be dealt with!!! So with that being said we have dealt with alot of NOISE and end result usually ended with me yelling NEXT!! followed by a COUNTDOWN!!! So stay on course dont allow NOISE to distract you. Halloween is circled on every Jr teams Head Coach and Team Owners calendar. You are now asking why? Well if you look at the Players rights and responsibilities Oct 31st is the last day teams are required to give 50% back of contracts to Players! November 1st they are allowed to keep up to 75% of your money. November 1st is also considered CUT DAY now that teams can use that extra money to cut you and get a better player and not charge them as much. Halloween is the day that Owners breath a sigh of relief that they schemed more money out of a player who has no business playing Juniors. So
Players and Parents don't be tricked this Halloween at the expense of some teams treat!!!!!
If your Junior team has more than 25 players on your team you need to LISTEN UP!!!!!!

There is good and bad in every league. Every league has a purpose.
It is up to each player/parent to determine what their short term/long term goals are before selecting what league they want to play in.
Once that is done finding a team that fits your style of play along with aligns with both your short/long term goals are.

You never know who maybe watching on any given day. Just because they don't have a team logo on their jacket doesn't mean that they are not a scout.
You should treat every game the same no matter who is in the building or not. With most games on video a coach doesn't have to be present to see what you did or didn't do.
It only takes one play to be added or taken off a scouts list.
So with that being said why not go with a company that has the experience of moving players and telling you what you need to do to get there.

1) the state or condition of being
2) a right to benefits specified especially by law or contract
3) belief that one is deserving of or entitled to certain privileges
So, what does this word mean in the sport of hockey or how is this related in the sport of hockey. Well here goes and buckle up because we are going to make a lot of people upset. So, it applies to players, Coaches, owners, leagues, advisors and can you imagine people like us bloggers.
We truly believe in 2021 this will be the year of entitlement and it has already started, and we are only a few weeks into the season. We will predict that player movement this year will be at an all-time high. We have seen it already if they don’t like the coach or the team, the player is already asking for trades/releases etc. Can you Imagine a player having to battle a little adversity and GOD FORBID try harder? Yes, we said EARN your playing time its not given. If you are playing Tier 3 and you have been cut from every Tier 2 team that makes you a Tier 3 player. Its these types of players that Coaches/Owners are making feel entitled by giving them financial breaks which is only increasing the players BIG EGOS. Why would these coaches/owners do this? Well, the teams that do these practices have 30 players still on roster or even more. Most leagues have the roster size is 23 to 25. These teams feel entitled to hold players with some not even being on teams protected list. You may ask why? Well owners need to pay the bills and with players receiving “discounts” they need to charge or in most cases overcharge players to make a profit.
So, after reading what you have read “you are saying to yourself I know coaches or teams that do this! “Yes, you have been fooled by coaches/owners who feel entitled to lie to people to make a living. So, your next question is how these teams get away with it. This is a few ways how 1) players and parents continue to be fooled by these deceitful practices 2) the league doesn’t govern or control these teams from doing these practices. So why don’t these leagues police their own well its because they want the “BEST” players in the league so they can put up their entitled numbers called COMMITMENTS!! Leagues are bragging with most of the time FALSE information about commitments how many people track to see if those players end up at the school, they “committed” to or better yet even make the team as a freshman.
OK lets all take a deep breath!!!!!! WE just ruffled a lot of peoples feathers and we have covered a lot of ground especially in the land of Junior Hockey. So, lets shift to high gear. Next to reach our table is advisors. Some advisors feel they are the only advisors in the game and have no issue in trying to poach other advisors’ clients. Hell, there are even some advisors that will brag that they are stealing another one’s clients or going to try. Why would these advisors do this other than pure disrespect, arrogance, and ENTITLEMENT?
So that brings us to BLOGGERS, Bloggers feel that their every word is being read by millions and will say anything they want to draw that click sometimes called CLICK Bait. There are bloggers out there that don’t fact check nor even care about the truth. These bloggers are only looking to ruin people and have nothing positive to write. They do this to overcome their own deficiencies or flaws because they feel entitled to do so.
So, at the end of the day if people just focused on themselves and only themselves the game would be better for it. The player should be looking to achieve their set goals and not worried about anything else. The coaches/owners should be focusing on their product and making the players experience memorable not miserable. Leagues need to weed out these coaches/teams to make their league more credible. Advisors just need to focus on their own clients and making them successful. And us bloggers we just need to play nice with others and do the RIGHT thing don’t feel entitled and TELL IT LIKE IT IS!!!!!!!
